The father of Samus Aran and husband of Virginia Aran, who died during the Space Pirate raid of planet K-2L.

In one of the ending images of Metroid Fusion he is shown firing upon a Ridley that is about to fire his plasma breath at him, while in the Metroid manga he instead sacrifices himself to self detonate the Afloraltite in order to blow up all the raiding Space Pirates forces, including Ridley.
