Real life religious cult and terrorist organization. After causing numerous terrorist attacks, most notably the 1995 subway sarin attack in Tokyo, the group was effectively disbanded, with the head guru responsible for the attack, Asahara Shoukou, arrested and later executed.

The remaining holdovers of AUM has since rebranded themselves as Aleph, with another group known as Hikari no Wa (ひかりの輪) sprintering from it.
