train suite shiki-shima
A luxury excursion train operated by East Japan Railway Company. The train was designed by Japanese industrial designer Ken Okuyama who also worked on projects such as the Ferrari Enzo and the Shinkansen E6 Komachi, and has an emphasis on traditional Japanese design and craftsmanship as well as modernism. The train itself is bi-mode electro-diesel, allowing it to operate on both electrified and non-electrified rail lines. It is considered one of most luxurious trains in the world.
