too low salary (meme)

年収低すぎ

年収低すぎ (Nenshuu Hiku-Sugi, Too low salary)

"うわっ…私の年収、低すぎ…?" ("Uwa! ...Watashi no Nenshuu Hiku-Sugi...?", "What...? My annual salary is too low...?") is the phrase used by Career Design Center Co., Ltd. as part of their web advertising campaign to promote their site '@type', a career change information site.
This ad shows the photo of a surprised looking woman, overreacting as if it were the end of the world, together with the following text.

Recommendation: @type
"What...? My annual salary is too low...?"
A "market value diagnostic test" that you can take in 5 minutes for free. It will determine your basic business skills and the most suitable salary for you.
Over 400,000 people have taken this test!
An extremely popular test as you can also get your results straight away.
CHECK!
>>What is the most suitable salary for you?

This ad has been shown so frequently that it has sparked a lot of criticism on the web with comments such as "I feel really annoyed every time I see this advert", "I feel like I want to punch that woman" and "Is this really an advertisement? It looks like it might actually have the opposite effect!"
The majority of parody images about this advert have been uploaded onto the web and ultimately, even a satirical song has been written for it.
Ironically, those web pages containing these criticisms have actually ended up displaying the ad in question for '@type' practically every time, all thanks to the Adwords server.
