the stranger (camus)

A 1942 French Novella written by author Albert Camus. Detailing the story of Meursault, a settler within French Algeria who weeks after his mothers funeral, shoots and kills an Arab Man. The Stranger has become critically acclaimed due to it's themes of absurdism and existentialism alongside its philosophical outlook and syntactic structure.

The Stranger is most famously known for its opening line; "Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don't know."
