The main character of Cowboy Bebop.

A bounty hunter with an affinity for jeet kune do, he hunts down criminals who escape the grasp of the Inter-Solar System Police (ISSP) with the help of his partner, former Ganymede policeman Jet Black on the ship known as the Bebop. Spike does not always succeed in getting a bounty, and his penchant for causing massive destruction when in pursuit of a bounty head means that the bounties that he and Jet do get do not last long.

Spike also has a hidden past that involves the Red Dragon, a crime syndicate modeled on the Chinese Triads, and in particular the ruthless assassin known as Vicious. Also figuring big into Spike's past is the mysterious woman known as Julia, who Spike and Vicious both loved.

Spike's weapon of choice is an IWI Jericho 941, and when chasing bounty heads, his vehicle of choice is the Swordfish II, an Asteroid racer outfitted with four machine guns, missile pylons, and a plasma cannon.
