The series originally began as a web comic posted on the author's Twitter account under the title Shougi no Yatsu. The series later began serialization in Weekly Shounen Magazine under the title Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru during March 2019. There is a 2022 anime adaption produced by Silver Link. It is licensed in NA by Kodansha USA under the title: When Will Ayumu Make His Move?
