Iconic pose from the opening of Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team. It features an RX-79G Gundam Ground Type firing a 180mm cannon, with a discarded shield in the foreground. The pose name derives from the shooting of the weapon, and the accompanying theme song Arashi no Nakade de Kagayaite (嵐の中で輝いて, lit. 'Shining in the Storm').

Due to the angle and perspective, an optical illusion causes the barrel of the cannon to look to be balanced atop the upper rail of the shield. The comparative size of the shield to other appearances, and the brief motion of the barrel behind the rail disprove the effect on closer examination. Nevertheless, the perceived pose became so popular that was later replicated via effect parts in certain official merchandise.
