A 1999-05 light novel series by Sakaki Ichiro, with illustrations by Nakayohi Mogudan, published by Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Also adapted into a 2002-2004 manga by Yabuki Go, serialized in Kadokawa's Dragon Comics, and a Spring 2003 anime by BONES.
