richelieu (kancolle)

リシュリュー リシュリュー(艦隊これくしょん) リシュリュー(艦これ) Richelieu Richelieu(艦隊これくしょん) Richelieu(艦これ)

Kantai Collection's personification of the lead ship of the French Richelieu-class battleships. Character design by Akira, voiced by Tanibe Yumi.

She has light blue eyes and long blonde hair with a long lock between her eyes. She has a mole under her left eye and another below her mouth.

Her outfit consists of a white beret with a red pom pom at the top, a two-tone black-white-grey strapless dress with a belt under the breasts, a grey-black-red scarf, black and white two-tone gloves, a tricolore scarf tied on her left arm, black and white two-tone thighhighs, and rudder-styled loafers.

The historical Richelieu was laid down in 1935, launched in 1939 and still not fully complete at the start of World War II. She served both sides during the war. She began the war under Vichy France, notably helping fend off an Allied attack on Dakar. She joined the Allies in November 1942, and after a refit in New York was mostly employed in the Indian Ocean. After the war she served as a training ship and was eventually scrapped in 1968.

She is named after the "Red Eminence" Cardinal Richelieu, a French clergyman and statesman.
