postpet
A Japan-exclusive e-mail service developed and hosted by Sony, originally released in 1997 for Macintosh computers. It visualized e-mail as literal mail that was delivered to the user's virtual house, where one of several pets also lived. These pets would leave the house to deliver mail to other users.
