Black star-shaped demonic creatures that first appeared as enemies in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic. The manual states they are rumored to haunt NES players' dreams. They have since appeared regularly within the Mario series, making their debut in the international release of Super Mario Bros. 2.

Their Japanese name is "Hakkun".
