The New Orleans Pelicans (Français: Pelicans de La Nouvelle-Orléans) are a professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana, the United States. The team was founded in 2002 as the New Orleans Hornets before spending two seasons as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. The team would fully return to New Orleans from 2007-2012 before being renamed to the Pelicans in 2013.

The team competes as a member of the Southwest Division in the Western Conference. The team colors are blue, gold and red.
