nambu type 14
The Nambu Type 14 is the finished product that came from Kijirou Nambu's experimental pistol prototype, the Nambu 1902. It is the semi-automatic pistol that was adopted as the standard sidearm for officers of the Imperial Japanese Army in 1927. It would see service in this role during the second Sino-Japanese war in the 1930s, and and through to the end of World War II. the gun bears superficial resemblance to the German Luger, but the designs are not related.
