The Mega-Evolved form of #373 Salamence, which debuted in Pokemon ORAS. Mega Evolution transforms Salamence into a Pokémon suited for almost all areas of combat, possessing an excellent balance of offense, defense and speed. The plating on its underbelly mutates into an armor-like vest that it can tuck its forelegs into, allowing for more aerodynamic flight, quite similar to Latios. Its body becomes narrower, its forelegs shorten somewhat, and the crest on its head now forms some sort of mouth guard. Most prominently, however, are Mega Salamence's enormous wings, which it can meld together to fly indefinitely.

Mega Salamence attains a huge boost to its Defense stat, a good buff to its Speed, and minor buffs to its Attack, Special Attack and Speed, resulting in a highly balanced stat spread. Its Ability, Aerilate, turns Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves, buffs their power by 30% and then applies STAB.
