mayreel (guardian tales)

Divine beast of harvest Mayreel a.k.a Mayreel is the god of harvest Kamael's divine beast, an alpaca with the power of grass and flowers. Usually, she tags along with Bari in her alpaca form, but she can change into human form.

She's a pessimist who hates almost everything. She dislikes everyone, even including the god of harvest Kamael. She does appreciate that Kamael raised her with love and care, but she can't help rolling her eyes at Kamael's relentless "nagging" at her. Kamael hopes Mayreel to look at him the way she twinkles her eyes at Bari, but Mayreel would rather spit out on the ground and demand him not to bother her. How sad it is for Kamael when there seems to be no end to Mayreel's rebellious phase.

Mayreel hates humans. She can never understand why Bari willingly helps those greedy humans; sometimes even consuming her own happy memories. There was a time when Mayreel used to like humans since anyone who set their eyes on Mayreel would immediately fall in love with her adorable figure. But a long time ago, some crowd of people abused Bari's compassion and wished for outrageous things wasting Bari's memory. If Mayreel did not punish them on time, Bari would have not even remembered Mayreel and Kamael. Since then Mayreel became wary of humans to protect Bari from the selfish species.

Mayreel hates her human form. She constantly whines about how it's uncomfortable and cumbersome to be in a human form, about how many customs she has to uphold. That's probably why she looks so annoyed and wears her priest outfit sloppily when Bari asks her to turn into her human form. Bari tidies up Mayreel's outfit whenever she can, but in a blink of a second Mayreel will untidy her clothes. Although she, certainly, is a handful, Bari stills love the way she is.
