manhunt

Manhunt is a 2003 PlayStation 2 mature stealth action game made by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. Set in the same universe in the Grand Theft Auto series in the fictional Carcer City, the player takes the role of James Earl Cash, a death row inmate who was supposed to be executed but was secretly saved by a mysterious man known as "the Director". However, the Director, who is actually a Snuff Film maker, forces James into his deathly movie where he must travel throughout slums of the city while killing an army of gangs, murderers, cultists, corrupt police and mercenaries hired by the Director to kill James in order to survive and gain his freedom.

Because of the game's brutal gameplay and violent subject matter, which even made some of the developers felt sick, the game has been banned in several countries due to its content. The game later had a sequel, Manhunt 2, in 2007 for the PlayStation 2 and Wii.
