levitate (pokemon)
Fuyuu (Japanese, meaning Float), Levitate (English)
An ability in Pokémon media which causes the user to float in the air.
Under normal conditions, a Pokémon with Levitate is unaffected by Ground-type moves, various ground-based moves such as Arena Trap, Spikes, etc. and also the various kinds of terrain. They share these immunities with Flying-type Pokémon.
In many cases, Pokémon that are seen floating in the air are the ones who may have Levitate as their ability: Gastly, Koffing, Lunatone, Bronzong, etc. However, in some cases the Pokémon may or may not have this ability.
There are also some Pokémon that are often seen levitating but can't have this ability in the first place (unless aided by other moves or abilities), such as Magnemite and Metang.
