A historical king of the Greek city of Sparta, who was made popular by his fiery and hot-blooded portrayal in the movie 300.
In real life he was a very capable leader, a fierce warrior in combat and a truly honorable man. He is actually considered a national hero in Greece.
When the Persians asked the Greeks to put down their weapons at the start of the Battle of Thermopylae king Leonidas supposedly exclaimed: "ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ" ("Come and get them!").
