kirby's return to dream land deluxe
The remake of Kirby's Return to Dream Land, released on February 24th, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch as a late celebration of Kirby's 30th anniversary. A digital Demo was released earlier that month, on February 8th.
Notable additions
- Graphical overhaul.
- All playable characters can emote using the right control stick.
- Helper Magolor, an easier difficulty that grants extra items and helps against bottomless pits.
- Two new copy abilities: Sand and Mecha, and the return of Festival.
- Merry Magoland: a new area run by Magolor with multiple mini-games from previous Kirby games (plus two new ones), all playable with up to 4 players.
- Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, an all-new extra mode that features a playable Magolor after the main game's events.
- Kirby's friends all gain extra moves first seen in Kirby Star Allies.
- Magolor Soul becomes way more powerful in The True Arena
Other changes
- King Dedede receives a re-design, not unlike the one seen in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
- Bandana Waddle Dee is now fully referred as such (in the original, it was only "Waddle Dee"), and the once red cloth at the tip of his spear is now yellow, as seen in other modern releases.
- Characters can wear Dress-Up Masks based on multiple characters from across the series.
- The Super Abilities used by Kirby are generally made faster.
- All bosses now have special Pause screen descriptions.
- Certain events in the game have different music. A few notable examples:
- The mid-boss tower in the fifth stage of Nutty Noon, if Kirby takes the secret entrance.
- HR-D3's second phase using "Roar of Dedede" from Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
- Magolor Soul using "Super Ruler's Coronation - OVERLORD" from Kirby Star Allies in The True Arena.
