A meme originated from a YouTube clip of the 1981 song "Just the Two of Us" by Glover Washington Jr. with no modifications except a static frame of a real person paired with an anime character in monochrome.

The first instance inset an anime screencap render of Fujiwara Chika with standing beside a photo background of Thomas Shelby.

It later spawned numerous variants, such as the one featuring two cats and the deepfake version featuring an alien singing the song.
