Batman's archnemesis and the main antagonist of DC comics' Batman series and movies. A maniacal clown with green hair, bleached skin and a grotesque grin, Joker is a brilliant criminal mastermind and expert chemist who specializes in weaponized props and toxins. He is also a murderous psychopath with a horrific sense of humor and a pathological obsession with Batman.
The Joker is created by the late Bob Kane, the late Bill Finger, and the late Jerry Robinson and first appeared in Batman #1 (April 25, 1940).
One of the most recognized characters in popular culture, the Joker has been listed among the greatest comic book villains and fictional characters ever created.
