hyacinth

ヒアシンス ヒヤシンス 風信子

Hyacinthus, commonly called hyacinth, is a genus of flowering bulbous plants in the family Asparagaceae.

Hyacinths have tubular, six-petaled flowers that grow in clusters on a leafless, sturdy stem. Cultivated species, such as Hyacinthus orientalis, often form denser clusters, while wild species may have as few as two or three flowers in an inflorescence. Cultivated hyacinths can be almost any color. The leaves are upright and strap-shaped, emerging from the underground bulb and surrounding the stem. The whole plant usually grows to a height of 15-35 cm (6-13.8 in).
