Born as Tafari Markonnen and also known as the Ras Tafari (1892-1975), he was Ethiopia's last emperor.
Became Ethiopia's leader during its struggle against Italy in World War II and modernized the country, he was deposed in a Communist coup in 1974 and murdered a year later.
