gretsch white falcon

Hollow body electric guitar created and manufactured by American instrument maker Gretsch since 1955. Originally made as only a showpiece to display the craftmanship of the brand during the 1954 NAMM show (described as "the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products, pro audio and event tech industry"), the White Falcon attracted such attention and popular during the event that it was subsequently put into production and sold the following year as model number 6136, becoming one of Gretsch's most popular models ever since.
It shares its popularity between Rockabily and Country musicians with its contemporary the Gretsch 6120 with one of its notably different owners being Neil Young.

While there is a wide amount of variations of the While Falcon that have spanned over its long run (including signature editions), its design as a whole remains relatively the same: White finish, gold pickguard with a falcon engraved onto it, gold hardware, block inlays, V-shaped headstock, F-shaped holes and a "Cadillac G" tailpiece (some models replace this with a Bigsby vibrato system).
Notable configuration variations include diferent controls and arrangements similar to the 6120's variations, double-cutaway body and the aforementioned Bigsby system.
