Prominent background character from One Piece. The legendary "King of the Pirates" and the previous owner of the "One Piece", the eponymous treasure of the series.

As he was suffering from an incurable disease, Roger disbanded his own pirate crew and surrendered himself to the World Government. In his hometown where he was about to be executed, he urged the spectators to find the "One Piece" and other treasures collected during his lifetime, thus starting the Golden Age of Pirates.
