expo2025

大阪・関西万博 大阪万博2025 関西万博 2025年日本国際博覧会

A World Expo held in Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

The logo, nicknamed "inochi-no-kagayaki" and created by graphic designer Shimada Tamotsu, has become a talking point on Japanese Twitter due to its mascot-like, albeit eldritch, design. This contrasts the other top five entries which were more abstract and stereotypical of a logo. This has spawned parodies interpreting the logo in a variety of ways, ranging from cute mascot to clothing motif to horrifying monster.

A mascot character based on the aforementioned logo was also created, which was named MYAKU-MYAKU.
