earth-chan

アースちゃん Earth-chan earthchan 地球ちゃん earth-chan_(felipecunhaeloi)

A personification of planet Earth that became a meme in late 2017.

She has blue and green hair. To poke fun at the flat earth theory, she is usually either flat chested and self conscious about it, or has a prominently round chest. She usually wears a serafuku or a NASA t-shirt.

The meme began when Twitter user @Trinimmortal joked about an anime featuring personifications of the planets of the solar system. Twitter user @felipecunhaeloi responded with an illustration of the idea. Later, DeviantArt user DatWeirdoWhoLuvsMilk designed his own version of the character, which rose to prominence and subsequently became the version most seen in memes and image macros.
