dry bones

Skeletal versions of Koopa Troopas, found mainly in towers and castles. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 and have since become a staple of the Mario series.

They often collapse into a pile of bones when attacked, but they will quickly recover and return to normal.

Their Japanese name is "Karon".
