Czechoslovakia's principal armed forces. It was established in 1918 following Czechoslovakia's declaration of independence from Austria-Hungary. It would later be formally renamed the Czechoslovak People's Army in 1954 after a period of Sovietisation. They would revert to their former name in 1990 but then dissolved upon the Dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993.
