brand of sacrifice

The Brand of Sacrifice is the symbol of the Godhand in Berserk, and marks those chosen to be sacrificed. The Brand acts as a beacon for ravenous demons who want to eat the bearer alive, and it bleeds and causes pain whenever they draw near. Guts has his Brand on the back of his neck, while Casca has hers on her left breast. The two are the only known characters of the series to have survived being branded.
