An image designed to be edited, often posted for free on websites like DeviantART. In the 2000s, pixel bases traced from anime screenshots were commonplace, featuring nude and bald anime characters that artists (especially young artists) could edit their own hair and clothes onto.
Sometimes depicted as a nostalgic reference.
