azuki nagamitsu (touken ranbu)

A personification of an Osafune school tachi crafted by Bizen Osafune Nagamitsu. It is rumored to be the cherished sword of Uesugi Kenshin. While there are many rumors of how the blade's name came to be, one story states that an azuki bean simply fell on the sword and cleaved it in two.

Due to the "azuki" in his name, Azuki Nagamitsu is portrayed as a man who has sweetness embedded in his very core. He is a kind, fatherly man who puts the wellbeing of the childlike tantous before his own. He is also skilled at making sweets; for this reason, fans like to have the sweets-loving Houchou Toushirou approach him for food due to his parental aura.
