A Nickelodeon animated franchise created by Brian Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. The franchise began with the television series Avatar: The Last Airbender, which was followed by the sequel The Legend of Korra. The story is set in a world primarily influenced by Eastern culture and mythology (as well as Inuit), revolving around the reincarnations of the titular Avatar.
Not to be confused with James Cameron's Avatar.
