American McGee's Alice is a third-person action PC video game which takes place in the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland universe. This Alice is designed by American McGee.
Set years after Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, the game features a more mature, cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice.
She is now an older, dark-brown haired young woman with emerald green eyes. She wears a dark navy dress and a white apron with alchemical symbols, and is often drawn with a long butcher knife.
The game is titled "Alice in Nightmare" (アリス イン ナイトメア) in Japan.
The game also has a sequel titled Alice: Madness Returns.
A prequel titled Alice: Asylum was pitched, but failed to be greenlit. Following this, McGee chose to permanently retire the series and step away from game development.
