akagi shuntaro

The protagonist of the manga "Tsukiji Uogashi Sandaime". He is a former bank employee who, without any knowledge of the business, takes over as the third generation of "Uotatsu", a fish wholesaler in Tsukiji Fish Market, following in the footsteps of his father-in-law. He is commonly referred to as "Sandaime" (lit. "the third generation") by those around him. With his inherent cheerfulness, love for food, and curiosity, he solves various problems that arise through Tsukiji and fish. The manga has also been adapted into a film, with Oosawa Takao playing the role of Shuntaro.
