Waffle House is an American restaurant chain that is open 24 hours everyday that serves Waffles, Southern style breakfast food and sandwiches. While the restaurant is famous for its food, it is also infamous for fights involving drunk customers or the staff.
The restaurant chain is also known for their disaster preparedness and ability to return to operations quickly after an extreme weather event has hit an area. This has resulted in an unofficial index called the Waffle House Index, an index that measures of how impactful an extreme weather event is based on how badly the event has impacted the operations of Waffle Houses in an area.
