The story revolves around a secret order of time travelers tasked with saving people from unfortunate deaths, typically by utilizing a special prosthetic right eye known as a "Retry Eye" to "retry" and undo any mistakes until their target(s) are saved and alive. It primarily focuses on Chrono, a young "Rewinder" seeking to become strong enough to tackle "Case 999", an impossible case that involves the death of his sister and the heavy involvement of a notorious organization hellbent on preventing him from solving it.
