Pvt. Leonard ”Gomer Pyle” Lawrence is a character from the 1987 movie Full Metal Jacket. He was played by Vincent D'Onofrio.
Because ”The Andy Griffith Show” and ”Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.” are not well known in Japan, his nickname was changed to 微笑みデブ (lit. "Simper Fatso") in the Japanese version.
