東方靈異伝 ("Touhou Rei'iden") ~ The Highly Responsive to Prayers ("Unusual Spirit Transmissions of the East")

First game of the Touhou series, released for NEC PC-9801 on November 1996. Part of the Touhou PC-98 era of games.

Someone has wrecked the Hakurei Shrine, an important gateway between Gensokyo, Jigoku (World of Hell) and Makai (World of Demons). Its miko, Hakurei Reimu, chooses between entering Makai and Jigoku to find out who destroyed her shrine, leading her either to an angel of death or a jealous spirit.
