The Colt-Browning M1895 is an American belt-fed machine gun designed by John Browning and his brother Matthew S. Browning, designed from 1898 to 1895. Nicknamed "potato digger" due its unusual mechanism.
The weapon is recognizable by its rear handle like the later Browning M1919, rectangular body shape, flip-up rear sight, and often mounted on tripods, wheeled carriages or vehicles.
