A key member of the Grove Street Families, he left in 1987 after moving to Liberty City after his younger brother Brian died, only to return in 1992 after his mother's death. After being blackmailed by corrupt police officer Frank Tenpenny, CJ underwent journey across the state of San Andreas in order to build his criminal profile and fought back against the law.
